An Evening of Reflection

12 years after the Rwandan genocide, Rwanda’s reputation is still overshadowed by the orchestrated genocide that took place in 1994. Falling on the United Nations International Day of Reflection of the Genocide, rYico held an evening of remembrance for the local community of Brighton & Hove to reflect on the lives of those affected by the atrocities of 1994. With an exhibition by Karen Kessi-Williams and Film ‘Keepers of Memory’ by Eric Kabera, the evening was well attended and was introduced by the Mayor of Brighton and Hove. rYico was also honoured with the presence of the Rwandan Ambassador to the UK, Clever Gatete.
