Access to reproductive and sexual health information is limited in Rwanda, with no consistent programme in schools. As a result there are major problems with unplanned pregnancies amongst young women and HIV infection even amongst 15-24 year olds. There is, therefore, a real need for accessible, culturally relevant sexual health information.

At Centre Marembo, we deliver a training programme, using unique teaching aids, about reproductive health, family planning, and HIV/AIDS to the young women we work with, to students, and to the wider community. The manger of the centre, Nicolette Nsabimana, has taken this programme across Rwanda and to other countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ethiopia.
