Aspira Fund supports Reintegration Programme

rYico would like to thank the Aspira Fund and Andy Rouse for supporting a programme to facilitate re-integration of former street children that are currently supported by Centre Marembo back into their rural communities in Rwanda. There are about 7,000 children living on the streets in Kigali, the majority of whom come to the city from rural areas. Initially disadvantaged, orphaned or ostracised children see more opportunity for survival in the city but in fact they are extremely vulnerable to exploitation. With funding from the Aspira Fund rYico is now able to identify family members and others within the community and provide services to assist them in providing stable homes for former street children.
